Balancing Family and Career Workshop Series

The "Balancing Family and Career" series was designed to assist Job Network services by providing relevant and practical training to their Parenting Payment Job Seekers.

By addressing the concerns and issues faced by parents returning to work, our workshops increase participation and motivation of job seekers and actively increase placement and outcome rates for our Job Network clients.

Workshops are held on our clients sites, and meet with Job Seeker Account Principles and Guidelines. Trainers delivering the programs have extensive experience in the Employment Services Industry and are all working parents with young children.

Balancing Family and Career - One Day Workshop

$200 (+GST) Per Participant - Minimum 8

This short workshop is designed especially for Employment Preparation clients to provide information and resources to assist them to prepare for a re-entry into the paid workforce. This is basically a one-day interactive information session that addresses the most common concerns that parents experience when planning their return to work.

Balancing Family and Career - Two Day Workshop

$350 (+GST) Per Participant - Minimum 8

This 2-Day workshop provides participants with the opportunity to work through the process of returning to work after an extended break from the paid workforce. The workshop resources participants with information and strategies to address any fears or concerns about returning to work and addresses issues of self confidence faced by many parents returning to work. The workshop also provides a specialized skills inventory and job search strategies that equip parents with skills to promote themselves confidently to employers.

Balancing Family and Career - A nine-day intensive work preparation program

$1300(+GST) Per Participant - Minimum 10

This intensive program can be held on a weekly basis during school terms or as an intensive 2-3 week training program. The idea of this program is to create motivated, inspired and totally job ready candidates for your service to quickly place into employment at the conclusion of the program.

Program includes:

• Action Plans followed up throughout program
• Up to $100 worth of interview clothing
• Up to $50 in hair styling
• Up to $50 in make-up for work and job interviews
• Written report on each participant
